Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Stoke Edith Station & Level Crossing Although much closer to Tarrington, the station was named after the largest local estate. The original station house survives and the old crossing gates, replaced in 1972, are now used for the house's access. The station was a typical rural affair, doomed as soon as the main roads were sealed with tarmac and more convenient bus and lorry transport arrived after World War One, though it staggered on for passenger traffic until 1965.
