Summary

[edit]
Description Saint Andrew Stoke Dry has mediaeval wall paintings and Romanesque chancel arch. A myth claims that the Gunpowder Plot conspirators met in a small room above the porch. On the Norman south pillar of the chancel arch is carved the figure of a man pulling a bell rope - one of the earliest known references to bell ringing.
