Summary
[edit]DescriptionStinkhorn in Grenoside Wood - geograph.org.uk - 957011.jpg |
English: Stinkhorn in Grenoside Wood The gloriously titled 'Phallus Impudicus' or Common Stinkhorn, which can be seen in great numbers in woodlands during the late summer months. The apex emits a nauseous green-brown slime as pictured here and its distinctive smell can permeate the whole woodland. Despite this unsavoury description, the unopened egg is still said to be edible. |
