| Description |
English: 10 September 2011. It was at least a year since Tottenham Citizens' Advice Bureau (CAB) moved from the former Town Hall in Tottenham Green. But the two signs directing people to its old offices were still there. One was peeling ; the second had been painted over.
Of course, both signs needed removing when the CAB moved to its new premises at 551 B High Road, Tottenham. I pointed this out in February 2011. Such lack of care and concern in small matters appears a symptom of a deeper malaise. We need to give a far higher priority to Tottenham Green as a gem of green open space. Especially when Haringey Council is continuing to suffer brutal cuts from a right-wing Government, it might help if Haringey staff stopped frittering away time and effort on "Cultural Quarters" and similar irrelevant nonsense. __________________________ § See where this photo was taken. § My photos of the signs in February 2011. § Tottenham Citizen's Advice Bureau location in September 2011. § Official website of Haringey Citizen's Advice Bureau |
