Description Á esquerda funcionamento das hormonas esteroides (lípidos): (1) entrada na célula e (2) unión a unha proteína receptora no núcleo, causando (3) síntese de ARNm de certos xenes, que se traducirán a proteínas efectoras. Á dereita funcionamento das hormonas proteicas: (1) unión a receptores de membrana, que (2) inician unha vía de transdución. A vía de transdución acaba coa (3) activación de factores de transcrición no núcleo, e hai transcrición e tradución das proteínas efectoras. a = hormona, b = membrana plasmática, c = citoplasma, d = núcleo.
