Summary
[edit]DescriptionSteps down from the Citadel, Herefordshire Beacon - geograph.org.uk - 1384844.jpg |
English: Steps down from the Citadel, Herefordshire Beacon Because of easy access to a large nearby car park this is one of the most heavily visited part of the Malvern Hills.
To reduce erosion from hundreds of thousands of feet every year, paths and steps have been laid by the Malvern Hills Conservators. These are concrete with Malvern Granite sides and inserts. The very top of the hill is called "The Citadel" on old maps. It is probably a Norman motte, though the rest of the hill is an iron-age hill-fort. Looking towards Wynds Point with Black Hill on the left. |
