(Ty) Tympanic membrane, (Sc) enlarged ear scale. Note the evident enlarged preauricular scale in S. canastra sp. nov., the relatively small and keeled preauricular scale in S. tricristatus and the virtual absence of this scale in S. dumerilii, S. quinarius, and S. squarrosus.
