Svenska: Ett av två maskinrum på landsvägsfärjan Stella, byggd för passet Korpo–Houtskär. Vardera maskinrummet har fyra V8-dieselmotorer med var sin generator för den dieselelektriska driften. Tre av maskinerna räcker normalt, den extra effekten är för svåra isförhållanden och tillåter att motorer förs iväg för service och monteras tillbaka utan att trafiken avbryts. Öppna dörrars dag i Åbo 26 november 2012, innan ibruktagning. Suomi: Toinen maantielautta Stellan kahdesta konehuoneesta, joissa kummassakin neljä V8-dieselkonetta. Avointen ovien päivä Turussa 26.11.2012, ennen käyttöönottoa. English: One of two engine rooms of the ferry Stella, with four V8 engines each. Three engines are enough for normal conditions, the extra power and redundancy is for severe ice conditions and for minimal interruption of the service: a faulty engine can be removed for service and reinserted (or replaced) en route. The ferry was built for the route Korpo–Houtskär, here on display in Turku after being completed at the STX Raumo yard. |
