Präsentation und Diskussion mit den Politikwissenschaftlern Steffen Kailitz und Wolfgang Merkel Eine Veranstaltung in Kooperation mit dem Hannah-Arendt-Institut für Totalitarismusforschung an der TU Dresden (HAIT) Wir laden zu einem Abend ein, an dem wir den innovativen Datensatz „Varieties of Political Regimes (Va-PoReg)“ und seine begleitende Webseite vorstellen und gemeinsam mit Wolfgang Merkel in eine Diskussion über die brennende Frage einer schwelenden Re-Autokratisierung der Welt eintauchen. Dies alles vor dem Hintergrund, dass im Jahr 2024 rund vier Milliarden Menschen – fast die Hälfte der Weltbevölkerung – in Wahlen von den USA über Brasilien und Indien bis Sachsen über ihre Regierungen entscheiden werden. Der Abend bietet eine Gelegenheit, Va-PoReg als Werkzeug der politischen Regimeforschung kennenzulernen und nachzuvollziehen, wie dieser Datensatz helfen kann, die komplexen Muster der globalen historischen Entwicklung von 1900 bis heute weltweit besser zu verstehen. |
