Summary
[edit]DescriptionSteeple Ashton Church from the lane - geograph.org.uk - 463571.jpg |
English: Steeple Ashton Church from the lane The 186ft steeple was struck by lightning in the July of 1670. It was then rebuilt and as it was being finished for the second time it was felled again by lightning the following October along with the two workmen who were killed - thus dispelling the myth that lightning doesn't strike twice in the same place. |
