Vervaardiging Vervaardiger: niet van toepassing Datering: voor 1969 Fysieke kenmerken: versteend hout Materiaal: hout plaqeutte: karton Afmetingen: steen: h 2 cm. × b 4 cm. (boven) × b 6 cm. (onder) × d 5,5 cm. plaquette: l 14 cm. × h 8,5 cm. Toelichting Op 9 oktober 1969 bezochten de astronauten die dat jaar naar de maan waren gereisd Nederland. Drees kreeg van de Amerikaanse ambassadeur een stuk maansteen cadeau. De steen is afkomstig uit de maanvondst 10085 (Apollo 11). Voorheen werd gedacht dat de steen van de maan kwam. In 2009 is door onderzoek vastgesteld dat de maansteen versteend hout is, afkomstig van de aarde [Gelder 2009].
