| Description |
English: Steel sheet piling. The sheet piling, erected here behind the breakwater in an effort to protect the soft cliff face, has slumped and consequently twisted; it is also regularly being pushed over by high waves which take away whole sections of cliff. See also > 774025. A variety of sea defences have been erected along the beach north of Bacton; the defences are particularly extensive nearing the Bacton gas terminal. But despite all these measures the sea is regularly breaching the breakwaters, groynes, revetments and steel sheet pilings. |
