| Description |
English: Steel sheet piling An impressive construction has been built with steel sheet pilings, at the bottom end of the ramp onto the beach. Coastal erosion in the vicinity has been estimated at an approximate rate of 1 metre/year, which accounts for the loss of a strip of land approximately 2 kilometres wide since the Roman invasion in 43 CE, resulting in the disappearance into the sea of several medieval villages. |
