Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Steel and wood. Two types of sea defences are protecting the beach below Ostend: the high wooden revetment seen in the background is being reinforced by several zig-zag groynes on its landward side. These groynes were constructed with steel posts which are very corroded and look as if they won't last for much longer. For a wider view of one of these zig-zag groynes see > 1034014. Pebbles have become stuck in the gaps, deposited here by wave action.
