Description |
English: The "H.F. Alexander" began its career as a naval vessel called the "Great Northern." After conversion to a passenger liner in the early 1920s, the renamed vessel began service between Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. The "H.F. Alexander" quickly won the reputation of being the fastest passenger liner on the West Coast. This June 1927 photo shows the coastal passenger liner "H.F. Alexander" at a Seattle pier. That month, the vessel carried over 3,000 passengers in one week. Written on negative: H.F. Alexander S.S.
