Description |
English: Starting in 1898, the steamer "Cleveland" made regular runs between Seattle and various Alaskan ports. Like any ship sailing Alaskan and Canadian waters too early or too late in the season, the "Cleveland" ran the risk of getting stuck in ice.
This photo shows the steamer "Cleveland" in the ice at Nome. The photo was taken by a photographer from the Nome firm of Sciaroni & Hammond sometime around 1902.
