Summary
[edit]DescriptionSteam train passing Adelaide station (geograph 3570064).jpg |
English: Steam train passing Adelaide station Former Great Northern Railway (Ireland) Class V compound 4.4.0 No. 85 "Merlin" heads a "Portrush Flyer" through Adelaide station. Adelaide was the site of the GNR(I)'s Belfast locomotive depot from 1911 until steam was eliminated on the GNR in 1966. In a strange quirk of fate, Adelaide is now the site of a major train maintenance depot for Northern Ireland Railways. |
