Description
English: Statue of Taiyi Tianzun supreme deity of Daoism (Stone). Taiyi Tianzun, a supreme deity of Daoism, sits here in a pose reminiscent of the lotus posture found in Buddhist statues. Like the Buddhist deity Guanyin, Tainzun is capable of saving believers from the torments of hell. Photographed at the Field Museum in Chicago Illinois.
