Description
English: Statue of Mikhail Ivanovich Kalinin at the Occupations Museum of Tallinn (Toompea 8), Estonia. Mikhail Kalinin was a Bolshevik revolutionary and the nominal head of state of the Soviet Union from 1919 to 1946. From 1926 he was a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, where he was one of the inner circle of party leaders around Soviet leader Joseph Stalin. Kalinin's monument was located at Tallinn's Flied of Towers, where it was erected in 1950.

Michail Iwanowitsch Kalinin (russisch: Михаил Иванович Калинин, Kalinin; * 7. Novemberjul./ 19. November 1875 in Werchnjaja Troiza, Oblast Twer; † 3. Juni 1946 in Moskau) war ein sowjetischer Politiker. Er war von 1923–1946 als Vorsitzender des Präsidiums des Obersten Sowjets der UdSSR formelles Staatsoberhaupt der Sowjetunion; zuvor von März 1919 – Dezember 1922 formelles Staatsoberhaupt Russlands.
