Description
English: Roman Imperial period.

Marble

From Rome(?)

Herakles is shown resting, supporting himself on his club, his right hand on his hip as he looks directly ahead. The large puntello on the left thigh was part of a support which connected the thigh with the club. The powerful musculature links the statue to the works of Lysippos from around 350 BC.
