Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Statue of Flora Macdonald Flora MacDonald was the heroine who smuggled Bonnie Prince Charlie across the Western Isles disguised as her maid Betty Burke, after the Battle of Culloden in 1746. This statue, which is unusual in having a dog also depicted, was erected in front of Inverness Castle in the early 1900s. She is seen looking south west - down the Great Glen looking in vain for Charlie to return.
