Description
Italiano: La statua di Giano Bifronte a Subbiano (Arezzo), opera dell'artista Alessandro Marrone, è stata inaugurata il 12 settembre 2020.

La statua, alta quattro metri e mezzo con una base di due metri per lato, è la statua raffigurante la testa di Giano bifronte più alta al mondo. Essa è stata realizzata con malte e resine sintetiche che garantiscono resistenza ed estetica nel tempo, oltre a non necessitare di una manutenzione eccessiva.

Ubicata in uno spazio verde accanto alla rotonda nella SR71 che spalanca le porte del Casentino a chi arriva da Arezzo. Le origini del nome di Subbiano derivano dall’espressione latina “Sub Jano conditum” ovvero “costruito al tempo di Giano”. Giano è una delle divinità più antiche e importanti della religione romana ed è raffigurato con una testa dai due volti, uno giovane che guarda al futuro ed uno vecchio che guarda al passato. La statua è stata realizzata nello stile "futurocubosurrealista”, titolo che la critica ha riconosciuto all'autore.
