Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Statfold Barn Railway - Gertrude, looks like a runner: This immaculately turned out locomotive was built by Hunslet of Leeds in 1909 as No. 995 and used at Penrhyn Quarry in North Wales. It was exported to Canada and ended up on display at Toronto's Centennial Centre, now the Ontario Science Centre. The other side though is sectioned so it will never run again. It has recently been repatriated as it had been taken off display with no plans to redisplay it and the son of Statfold's owner asked if was available. This was the last of several Welsh quarry locomotives exported to North America to be returned to the UK. Walking round to the other side is quite startling if you are not expecting it!
Statfold Barn Railway - Gertrude is not a runner
