English: Illustration of the new Exhibition Building at Bowen Park, 1891.
Architectural drawing signed by G.H.M. Addison from Oakden, Addison & Kemp Architect of the new Exhibition Building, 1891. This building was known as the Exhibition Building from the time it was built in 1891 to approximately 1900. In addition to the large exhibition hall the building was constructed with a separate concert hall (known as the Exhibition Concert Hall) that continued to operate until the completion of the Brisbane City Hall in 1930. Between 1901 and 1987 the building housed the Queensland Museum. Between 1930 and 1970 the building also housed the Queensland Art Gallery. Since 1988 the building has been known as the Old Museum Building. (Information taken from the State Library of Queensland's authority records). |
