Description
English: Teacher and all students from Broadwater Provisional School, 1904

The Broadwater Provisional School (later Upper Broadwater State School), opened in 1904 with one teacher and 21 students. At this stage it was the first school north of Stanthorpe, and within the Shire, (there was one at Dalveen but that was in another shire) to be established. It was situated near Jolly's Falls. Another school was later opened south west of Stanthorpe called the Broadwater State School). The first teacher of the Upper Broadwater School was Herbert Saville Moss, who is pictured here with his students. The teacher and all 21 students of Upper Broadwater School (then Broadwater Provisional School) 1904.
