Description
English: Launching of tramway system, Rockhampton, 1909 This image shows a large crowd of people gathered in William Street, Rockhampton to see the launching of the tramway system on June 5th 1909. Two trams can be seen as well as a row of buildings, including the Crown Hotel. The figures in the foreground clearly show the style of clothing popular at the time.
