Description
English: Francis Caldwell Gore, 1840 Copy of a miniature of Mrs St. George Richard Gore, nee Francis Caldwell. Daughter of Edward Caldwell, Lyndhurst, New Forest, Hampshire. Married 17 August 1840 at Denham Court Church, parish of Liverpool, Australia. Died 22 January 1891 in Florence, Italy. St. George with his brother Ralph, took up ' Yandilla ', Millmerran district of Darling Downs in 1841. Francis and her baby arrived at Yandilla in 1842. The original miniature is held by the Women's Pioneer Society of Australia in Sydney, NSW and is dated 1840, Sydney. (Description supplied with photograph).
