English: View of a Townsville street featuring the Burns Philp building, ca. 1913. Sir Robert Philp was a politician and Premier of Queensland from 07 December 1899 until 17 September 1903. He was also a founder of the large North Queensland company of Burns, Philp, based in Townsville. This album was presented to Sir Robert by the People's Progressive League, on his retirement from politics. All photographs in the album were taken by W. G. Laurie and have been surrounded with hand drawn and coloured frames created by Charlotte Cameron. |
