Description
English: Funeral procession of the Honourable John Leahy, Brisbane, 1909.

John Leahy was born in Schull, County Cork, Ireland in July 1854. Leahy was a Member of The Legislative Assembly representing Bulloo, Minister for Railways and Works and Speaker from 1907-1909. Leahy died on 20 January, 1909 in Brisbane, Queensland. [Information taken from A Biographical Register of Queensland Parliament 1860 - 1929, by D. B. Waterson, Australian National University Press, Canberra, 1972 , page 105 - 106.].

The funeral procession is passing the Courier building at 11:50am. (Description supplied with photograph.).
