English: Starvehimvalley Bridge An isolated canal bridge crossing a very short remainder of the Cromford Canal which has been largely filled in in the immediate surroundings, just this stretch remaining as a fishing pond.
The name almost certainly derives from the perception that the land only provided poor pickings for the farmer. The adjacent farm marked as Pear Tree Farm was formerly called Starvehim Valley Farm. |
