Mr. Kilbourne Dies. Was Ex-Rector. The Rev. Stanley S. Kilbourne, 80, rector emeritus of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Port Chester died in United Hospital early today after an extended illness. He was born in Bismarck, North Dakota, February 2, 1881 son of the late John and Josephine Kilbourne. His mother died in Port Chester at the age of 101 about ten years ago. Mr. Kilbourne was a graduate of the University of Minnesota where he was a member of Delta Upsilon social fraternity. He later was graduated from General Theological Seminary in New York City. Before coming to Port Chester in 1920 he was a rector of Gethesmane Episcopal Church in Minneapolis. He succeeded the Rev. Harry Heald at St. Peter's Episcopal Church and continued as rector of the Port Chester church for 18 years until he in turn was succeeded by the Rev. Dr. Lewis R. Howell who died last April 26. Following his rectorship at St Peter's he served on the staff at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City. He also assisted at Christ's Church in Rye and was chaplain of SL Luke's Convalescent Hospital upper King Street, Greenwich. He was responsible for the building of St. Peter's Parish Hall in 1926 when there was a marked growth in the church organization. He was a chaplain of the Port Chester Fire Department and a former member of the Port Chester Rotary Club. He leaves no immediate survivors.
