Summary
[edit]DescriptionStanding stone with a hole drilled in - geograph.org.uk - 717773.jpg |
English: Standing stone with a hole drilled in. Ancient or modern?
With stone age technology the hole would have taken months to drill. Ground out with sand on the end of a stick? It would be interesting to know what a sighting through the hole looking westwood would reveal. Sunset over Foel-fras on a significant day of the year, perhaps? The hill in the distance is Moel Eilio and a back bearing would pass over the ridge between Foel-fras and Drum. 751405 751426 751440 |
