Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Standing stone near Millisle. By the shore between Donaghadee and Millisle, just south of Ballyvester, sits this granite obelisk. There was an inscription on the far side but this seems to have fallen off (or been removed). See also 662763. The memorial is to a Major Richard Gustavus Heyn, the last owner of the once famous Ulster Steamship Company 827248. At the outbreak of World War One Heyn joined the Royal Flying Corps and was later appointed Chief Flying Instructor at Marske in North Yorkshire.
