English: Standing deadwood. This dead Silver Birch (Betula pendula), in Brereton Heath Country Park, provides an important resource to wildlife. It provides a home for invertebrates who in turn provide food for birds such as Woodpeckers (Dendrocopos spp.) and Treecreepers (Certhia familiaris). |
