Stamp of the German "Protektorat Böhmen und Mähren" (= Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia); 1939; definitive stamp DRBM Michel No. 9; definitive stamp of Czechoslovakia (Michel No. 350 from 1935) with double line overprint of the new country name "Böhmen und Mähren / Čechy a Morava" and fessed old coutry name.; Old country name "CESKOSLOVENSKO" (without hyphen (with hyphen = DRBM Michel No. 10)), The stamp motive shows a side-portrait of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk (1850-1937).; Masaryk was a Czech philosopher, politician, sociologist and writer.; He was until to the WWI member of the Austrian-Hungarian "Reichsrat" and was 1919-1937 the first President of the new-founded independant Republic of Czechoslovakia.; He was Professor for Philosophy on the Charles-University in Prague.; The initial stamps issued from the government of this protectorate (1-19) were valid until to the (also accepted as mixed frankings). After could only still used the stamps of the German Empire or own stamps which were issued from the government of the protectorate.
