| Description |
English: Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, Tixall, Staffordshire. This pound from Tixall to Great Haywood is probably one of the most attractive anywhere on the system. Note the course of the boat approaching, and its angle in the water. The bow is already touching the bottom of the canal, which is shallow by the reed beds. Ten seconds later, following cheerful waves, the lady swung her tiller towards the centre of the canal, the stern lurched towards the reeds and a further five seconds on.....they were well and truly grounded...POLES TO THE READY!!! (see also 553521 and 553527) |
