Deutsch: Stadttheater Gießen: Mittelgruppe der Hauptfassade, Gebäude eingeweiht 1907
Apoll auf dem Streitwagen. Die Skulptur wurde entworfen vom Bildhauer Jäger in Berlin und wurde von der Firma Knodt in Frankfurt in Kupfer getrieben. Die überlebensgroße Gruppe zeigt Apollo, der auf einem Eingespann den Wolken entsteigt, in seiner Rechten hält er seine Leier, in der Linken den errungenen Lorbeerkranz. Das bäumende Ross wird von zwei Putten geführt, die mit Posaunen den Sieg des Einziehenden verkünden. |
