Description
Deutsch: Die ehemalige Stadtburg wurde unter Graf Heinrich von Görz-Tirol (1295-1335) erbaut, welcher für kurze Zeit auch König von Böhmen war. Den Königstitel behielt er freilich sein ganzes Leben lang bei und nannte seine Stadtburg daher "Königshaus". Im Jahre 1406 schenkte Herzog Leopold IV aus dem Hause Habsburg das Gebäude den "Haller Pürgerinnen und Pürgern". Seither dient es der Stadt als Rathaus. Im Jahre 1447 bis auf die Grundmauern abgebrannt wurde es nach kurzer Zeit wieder aufgebaut. Besonders sehenswert ist die Ratsstube, deren Balkendecke aus dem Jahre 1492 stammt. Der Saal ist inzwischen zu einem der beliebtesten Trauungssäle Tirols geworden. Reliefs der Wappen des Grafen befinden sich an den Außenwänden.
