Summary
[edit]DescriptionSt Peter's church - royal arms - geograph.org.uk - 1313573.jpg |
English: St Peter's church - royal arms The carved Victorian arms are affixed to the gallery front. This view was taken upwards towards the organ on the gallery, hence the optical distortion.
St Peter's church > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1313549 - https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1313555 has a Norman round tower and is built from flint, with red-brick buttresses that were added later. The elaborately carved south door > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1313574 appears to be ancient and presumably dates from the 15th century. The probably most noteworthy feature inside the church is one of only a handful remaining seven sacrament fonts > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1313566 in East Anglia. The rest of the interior > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1313562 is 19th century and the carved royal arms are to Queen Victoria (depicted here). The church is open every day.
