Description
English: Bulleid Light Pacific on Up express entering St Pancras during 1948 Exchange Trials.
View northwards out of St Pancras terminus: ex-Midland main line to Leicester and the North. During the 1948 Exchange Trials (see TQ3083 : SR Bulleid Pacific leaving King's Cross during 1948 Exchange Trials) the SR locomotives were provided with LMS tenders with water-scoops. Light Pacific No. 34005 'Barnstaple' (built 7/45, rebuilt 6/57, withdrawn 10/66) is on a trial run without dynamometer car on the 13.50 express from Manchester Central. The view includes the St Pancras Station signalbox and the prominent gasholders as the train crosses over Pancras Road.
