Description Church of St Nicholas, Denston, Suffolk, ledger stone of Elizabeth Alleyn (1631-1699), wife firstly of John Robinson (1626/27-1659) of Denston, Suffolk, secondly to Sir William Jones (1631-1682) of Stowey, Somersetshire, who was buried at Ramsey, Wiltshire (Source: http://fortunatusfamilia.com.au/getperson.php?personID=I08678&tree=tree1). The will of Dame Elizabeth Jones, 12 December 1696, was proved 12 August 1699. Inscribed: "Here lieth the Body of the Lady Eliz' Jones Mother to Sir John Robinson by John Robinson Esq. And after Married to Sir Wm Jones Knt, She Departed this Life the 27th of July, 1699, Aged 68 years." Philip Morant, History of Essex, p. 99, states that Elizabeth, daughter of Edmund Alleyn, of Little Lees, in Essex, married first to John Robinson; afterward to Sir William Jones, Attorney-general to Charles II. Arms: Robinson (Vert, on a chevron between three bucks trippant or as many cinqufoils gules - a difference of Robinson baronets of Newby, cr.1660, see Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884, p.862, Robinson of Kentwell Hall, Suffolk, baronets) impaling Alleyn (Sable, a cross potent or) (Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884, p.13 "Alleyn of Thaxted and Hatfield Peverill, baronets")
