Description
English: St Nicholas's Churchyard Said to mark the site of plague pit from 1348 it was the main burial ground of Brighton until overcrowding forced it to open this extension to the east in 1818, another to the north was added in 1824, another area was added west of Dyke Road in 1841 before burial were prohibited in 1853 after the new cemetery at Woodvale was opened. The churchyard is now a public open space.
