Description
English: St Nicholas's Church Viewed from the eastern corner of the churchyard that was extended in 1818. The church is the oldest building in Brighton being the only survivor of a 1515 French raid which burnt the rest of the town to the ground. However, much of the church dates from 1853 when it was rebuilt and the tower is one of the few parts dating back to the 14th century. The parish church of Brighton until it was transferred to St Peters in 1873.
