Description

Stained glass in the Church of St Michael and All Angels, Shelf, Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. Designed by Mallinson & Healey, and completed in 1850.

The dedication on this window says: "To the Glory of God and in Loving Memory of Uriah Pearson late of Shelf. This Window is the gift of his Widow Sarah Pearson October 1915." Uriah Pearson and Sarah Murgatroyd married in 1883, in Bradford. Uriah was a shopkeeper (grocer) and lived over the shop at no.3 Atlas Street, Shelf. (If this is the Atlas Street now subsumed into Bradford, then the shop has been demolished). He and his wife were both born in Shelf.[1][2][3]
