Description Church of St Michael and All Angels, Shelf, Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. Designed by Mallinson & Healey, and completed in 1850. All carving of 1850 is by Robert Mawer. Showing label stop in form of head, on exterior of building. This is an early portrait of Robert Mawer's son Charles, aged 10 or 11 years. It is paired with Robert Mawer's portrait. Mawer's firm used real-life models when representing saints and Biblical figures.
