Summary

[edit]
Description
English: St Mary le Strand This 18th century church occupies a prominent position in the middle of the Strand. It was designed by James Gibbs who was trained in Rome and the Italian influence is evident. One of the 'Queen Ann' churches, it was constructed during her reign to cater for the expanding suburbs of London or, in this case, to replace a previously demolished church.
