Summary

[edit]
Description
English: St Mary, Easton Neston - Hatchment, for an unmarried Earl of Pomfret of Easton Neston, as no impalement of a wife's arms are shown, and coronet of an earl above. Possibly therefore for George William Richard Fermor, 5th Earl of Pomfret (1824-1867) who died unmarried, when the earldom, barony, and baronetcy became extinct. But possibly for George Fermor, 3rd Earl of Pomfret (1768-1830) who in 1793 married Mary Browne (c.1769-1839), daughter and heiress of Thomas Trollope Browne, a wine merchant. However, they separated soon afterwards and had no issue, meaning that on his death in 1830 the earldom and estate passed to his younger brother Thomas William Fermor, 4th Earl of Pomfret (1770-1833).
