Description
English: St Mary, Chiddingstone, side chapel. Two hatchments:
  • Left, triple impalement for Henry Streatfeild (d.22 Aug 1829) of Chiddingstone, who married 1st, in 1782, Elizabeth Catherine Ogle (d.24 June 1801), a daughter of Very Rev Newton Ogle, Dean of Winchester; he married 2nd, in 1802, Charlotte Scoones, a daughter of William Scoones of Tonbridge. Arms:
    • Per fess gules and sable three bezants (Streatfeild) impaling to dexter:
      • Argent, a fess between three crescents gules (Ogle) a mullet or for difference; and impaling to sinister:
      • Sable, a fess vairy or and argent between three cinquefoils argent (Scoones):

Crest: An arm in armour proper, bent from the elbow, the forearm encircled with a band tied in a knot or supporting a spear all argent with a pennon showing argent a cross gules on the dexter side of the spear, and gules three bezants fessways on the sinister;the pennon being turned round the spear to show both parts.   • Right: For Henry Streatfeild, of Chiddingstone, who married Anne Sidney, illegitimate daughter and sole progeny of Jocelyn Sidney, 7th Earl of Leicester (1682-1743). On the Earl's death, Anne did not inherit the Penshurst Place estate, but after much legal wrangling Henry and Anne only received the income from the Sidneys' Welsh properties.     • 5: Ermine, on a canton sable a saltire gules thereon five fleurs-de-lys or (Beard)
    • 6: Streatfeild;

Overall an inescutcheon Or, a pheon azure (Sidney), with a bordure engrailed of the second for difference; Crest: An arm in armour proper bent from the elbow the forearm encircled with a band tied in a knot gules supporting a spear or with a pennon showing argent a cross gules on the dexter side of the spear and gules three bezants fessways on the sinister; the pennon being turned round the spear to show part of both sides.
