Description
English: "This interesting ecclesiastical structure upon which Governor Macquarie has left his mark, possesses many points of historical interest." - Frank Walker

Designed by architect Francis Greenway and built by convict Nathanial Lucas, and following his death the construction was taken over by a Mr. James Smith. The Anglican Church celebrated its first congregation at St Lukes during October 1819, and St Lukes Day on October 18th is considered the anniversary of the Church’s construction.
