Summary
[edit]DescriptionSt Joseph's Catholic Church - geograph.org.uk - 507491.jpg |
English: St Joseph's Catholic Church The catholic parish of Bellaghy / Ballyscullion is divided by the river Bann and so requires two chapels, one on either side of the river. The main church is St Mary's in Bellaghy H9597 on the London/Derry side of the River while this church is on the Co. Antrim side of Lough Beg. Historically both sides of the river came under the influence of the monastic settlement on Church Island in Lough Beg and so it was natural for there to be one parish spanning the Bann. |
